David Naismith is Senior Director of Business Operations for Global Procurement Services at Cisco. In this role, David is responsible for driving improved efficiency, effectiveness, and quality within the business through operational best practices and systems. The mission of Cisco’s indirect procurement organization is to optimize the company’s spend and cash, keep the company protected, and deliver unparalleled experiences for its suppliers and employees. During a 24-year career at Cisco, David has led global teams in Employee Services, Technical Services, Engineering Operations, and Information Technology. A consistent theme in every role has been a focus on strategic planning, analysis, and operational excellence. Prior to Cisco, David worked as an internal auditor in the transportation, oil & gas, and hazardous waste industries. David holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, and a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. He has also received certification as a Project Management Professional and a Certified Internal Auditor. David lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his wife and four children.
